The Scottish Onshore Wind Developers Forum has formally launched to represent the sector in Scotland.
The group brings together developers including Cubico Sustainable Investments, Low Carbon and EDP with a combined pipeline of more than 6GW, it said.
The forum aims to engage with policymakers and regulators to unlock investment and support deployment, it added.
The launch comes amid concerns over policy and regulatory headwinds and limited ambition for onshore wind beyond 2030.
The pipeline could generate electricity equivalent to nearly four million UK households if developed.
Rosie Vetter, head of development UK at Cubico Sustainable Investments, said: “Onshore wind is a proven, cost-effective technology that can be delivered at scale, supporting net zero, energy security and long-term economic growth across the UK.
“However, the Scottish onshore wind sector faces significant uncertainty. Without a clear and ambitious pathway beyond 2030, investor confidence will be undermined and Scotland risks failing to unlock the full potential of one of its cheapest and quickest-to-deploy renewable technologies.”
