Kent has been awarded an EPCm contract by MorGen Energy for a 20MW green hydrogen plant at Milford Haven in West Wales.
Kent said the project is among the first UK electrolytic hydrogen schemes to secure a production contract under the Hydrogen Production Business Model through Hydrogen Allocation Round 1.
MorGen Energy added the development represents a step in scaling domestic low-carbon hydrogen production to support Net Zero 2050 ambitions.
The facility will produce up to 2,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year using electrolysers and is located within the Celtic Freeport area.
“This project demonstrates how established industrial locations can be repurposed to enable low-carbon hydrogen production at scale,” said Michael Collins, senior vice president engineering and consulting at Kent.
“Our role as EPCm partner is to integrate technology, infrastructure and delivery teams to ensure safe, efficient execution.”
Kent’s scope includes FEED verification, detailed design, procurement and construction management, as well as integration of ITM’s Poseidon modular electrolysers.
Hydrogen produced at the site will be exported by truck and via a 4km low-pressure pipeline.
