Alight has acquired a 79MWp solar and 55MW battery storage project in Kalundborg, Denmark, from GreenGo Energy.
Alight said the project marks its first integrated solar and storage development in Denmark and will produce around 95GWh annually.
GreenGo Energy added it will continue as development partner through to ready-to-build, expected in 2028.
The project combines a utility-scale solar park with a co-located battery energy storage system to enable time-shifting of electricity.
“We’re excited to add a solid project to our development pipeline and expand our Danish portfolio. This hybrid park is a fully integrated solar-plus-storage project in one of the most strategic locations in Denmark. By combining solar with BESS in DK2, we can generate renewable power where and when it is most needed”, said Warren Campbell, chief executive of Alight.

“We are very pleased to partner with Alight on this first project together in Denmark. GreenGo will continue as development partner through ready-to-build, and we see Kalundborg as a strong first step in supporting Alight’s ambitious vision in the Nordics”, said Karsten Nielsen, chief executive of GreenGo Energy.
The project will be developed for long-term power purchase agreements with commercial and industrial customers.
Alight said the acquisition supports its target of reaching at least 5GW of installed capacity by 2030.
