BnM has signed a contract with H&MV Engineering for Electrical Balance of Plant services at Oweninny Wind Farm Phase 3 in North Mayo.
The company said the EBoP scope includes substations, transformers, switchgear, cabling and control systems needed to connect the project to the national grid.
H&MV Engineering added that the works will support delivery of the 18-turbine wind farm with a projected output of approximately 100MW.
The project includes a new 110 kV substation and an underground grid cable linking to the existing Bellacorick substation.
Oweninny Phase 3 follows Phase 1 commissioned in 2019 and Phase 2 commissioned in 2023 as part of the wider development.
“This is an important milestone in the delivery of Oweninny Wind Farm Phase 3 and in BnM’s ambition to build a 5GW pipeline of sustainable energy systems – including wind, solar and biomass projects,” said John Reilly, head of renewables at BnM.
“Our focus is on enabling industrial and economic growth while safeguarding our environment for generations to come.”
“We are delighted to support BnM on the EBoP works for Oweninny Wind Farm Phase 3,” said David Maher, managing director of Ireland at H&MV Engineering.
