Ocean Winds has reached key milestones for the High Sea Wind offshore wind project in Gippsland, Australia.
The company said it has begun a four-month geophysical survey with EGS Survey Pty Ltd using low-impact sonar technologies.

Ocean Winds added that the survey will inform turbine placement, cable routing and environmental assessments, with marine mammal observers in place.
The developer has also deployed an EOLOS floating LiDAR buoy in partnership with TGS to collect wind, wave and environmental data.
The High Sea Wind project aims to deliver up to 1.3GW of capacity, enough to power one million Victorian homes and avoid 5.3 million tonnes of CO2 annually.
