Energiekontor has reached financial close for the Donstorf repowering wind project in Lower Saxony, Germany.
The company said the project will comprise four Vestas turbines with a combined capacity of around 29MW and is expected to begin operations in 2028.
Energiekontor added the wind park will be transferred into its own portfolio upon commissioning, contributing to a future portfolio exceeding 680MW.
The project is located in Eydelstedt in the district of Diepholz and follows a successful bid in the Federal Network Agency’s EEG tender in November 2025.
Two of the originally planned six turbines have been transferred to a landowners’ association, which is developing them separately.
From its first full year of operation, the wind park is expected to generate around 74GWh annually.
“With the successful financial close of the Donstorf wind project, we are continuing on our strategic growth path,” said Peter Szabo, chief executive officer of Energiekontor AG.
“By adding the wind park to our own portfolio, as currently planned, we are strengthening our independent power generation portfolio.”
