Red Rock Renewables has reached financial close on £62m project financing for the Benbrack onshore wind farm in Dumfries & Galloway.
The financing has been provided equally by Lloyds, HSBC and China Construction Bank as the 67.1MW project prepares to move into the operational phase, the company said.
It added that construction of the wind farm began in October 2022 on a self-funded basis.
Red Rock previously secured Contracts for Difference awards in Allocation Rounds 5 and 6 for the project’s full 67.1MW generation capacity.
The developer also secured a route-to-market power purchase agreement with SSE Energy Markets in March 2025.
The wind farm features 15 turbines supplied and installed by Vestas under a 10-year service and maintenance agreement.
Natural Power acted as owner’s engineer for the project while Jones Bros delivered balance of plant works and Wood provided site management services.
“Our team has been dedicated to delivering an efficient, high quality wind farm for the last five years and to now have the support from Lloyds, HSBC and China Construction Bank reaffirms that Benbrack was a solid investment,” said Shi Weifei, chief finance officer of Red Rock Renewables.
