Seatrium has delivered a next-generation wind turbine installation vessel (‘WTIV’) to Maersk Offshore Wind following sea trials and final evaluations at its Tuas Boulevard Yard in Singapore.
Mr William Gu, executive vice president of Seatrium Energy (marketing), said the state-of-the-art vessel represents a major step forward in pushing the possibilities for global offshore wind.
He added that the achievement underscores Seatrium’s engineering capabilities and reinforces the critical role the group plays in building the backbone to global offshore wind systems.

The custom-engineered vessel is designed to install some of the world’s largest offshore wind turbines and features a 1,900-tonne main crane with a 180-metre hook height to support 15+MW-class machines.
The milestone completes an extensive construction programme that included precision heavy-lift operations, full system integration and validation by international classification societies.
A feeder-based installation design enhances operational efficiency by using a stabilising system to hold feeder vessels during component transfer in high sea states.
The vessel’s installation solution is US Jones Act compliant and is scheduled to sail in March 2026 for its first assignment at the Empire Wind project offshore New York.
Seatrium recorded zero lost time injuries throughout the project.
The group said its expanding offshore wind portfolio, including substations, floating foundations, zero-emission vessels and installation assets, supports the industry’s rapid growth and strengthens its role in global net-zero ambitions.
