RWE has secured Contracts for Difference for five solar PV and three onshore wind projects in the UK’s Allocation Round 7 totalling 290MW.
The company said the solar projects comprise 215MW and were awarded at a strike price of £65.23/MWh.
The onshore wind projects total 76MW and secured contracts at £72.24/MWh.
RWE operates over 30 onshore wind farms in the UK with a combined 730MW and stated that it has four operational solar sites amounting to 185MW.
The company added that nine PV projects with around 440MW and four onshore wind sites with around 230MW are under construction.
Katja Wünschel, chief executive RWE Renewables Europe & Australia, said: “What a great success!”
Wünschel added: “We are delighted to have secured long-term offtake contracts for eight solar and onshore wind projects in Allocation Round 7.”
Wünschel stated: “This achievement marks an important milestone for RWE as we continue to deliver our UK solar and onshore wind development pipeline and underscores the strategic importance of the UK market to our business.”
