RP Global and MaxSolar agree German tie-up

RP Global and MaxSolar have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a long-term cooperation for the development and implementation of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects in Germany.

The companies said the agreement focuses on joint development, financing, construction and operation of ground-mounted photovoltaic and storage assets.

They added that RP Global will act as project investor, long-term shareholder and owner, taking responsibility for final project development and construction financing.

MaxSolar will contribute its development and execution capabilities and act as EPC contractor delivering turnkey projects with options for operations, maintenance and PPA support, according to the partners.

The cooperation combines RP Global’s international development platform and investment strategy with MaxSolar’s engineering, construction and operational expertise in the German market.

David Tanner, group head of development at RP Global, said: “This partnership brings together two highly complementary organisations with a shared ambition: to deliver high-quality, scalable renewable energy projects in Germany.

“By aligning RP Global’s long-term project investment and development platform with MaxSolar’s strong infrastructure execution and EPC capabilities, we are creating a robust framework to accelerate project delivery while maintaining the highest technical and economic standards.”

Max Mages, head of sales at MaxSolar, added: “We are very pleased to enter into this framework cooperation with RP Global.

“The planned annual project portfolio of over 100 MW underscores a strong mutual commitment to develop future-proof infrastructure projects.”

The companies began working together on the 49.5MW Harbke solar project, which is under construction on a former coal-mining site, where MaxSolar is already EPC partner.

They said the next joint PV project, due to start construction in the first half of 2026, will fall under the new MoU.

The partners added that future projects will place strong emphasis on storage integration to shift solar output, support grid stability and enable a more resilient renewable electricity market.
