Scottish Renewables appoints three new directors

Scottish Renewables has appointed three directors to its board following an election held among its more than 380 member organisations.

The new directors will each serve an initial three-year term and help guide the long-term success of the industry body, it said.

The successful candidates are Susie Lind of CMS UK, Gillian Noble of ScottishPower Renewables and Jimmy Williamson of the Scottish National Investment Bank.

Lind has been re-elected to the board and has more than 20 years of experience in the energy and legal sectors.

Noble joins the board for the first time and leads onshore wind, solar and battery energy storage development at ScottishPower Renewables.

Williamson, also newly elected, sits on the bank’s leadership team with responsibility for net-zero investment origination.

Following the election, Iain Sinclair and Kate Turner have stood down from the board, while Adam Morrison will step down as chair in March but remain a director.

“I want to extend my congratulations to Susie, Gillian and Jimmy on their successful appointment to the Board of Scottish Renewables and to the wider candidates who took part in the election,” said Claire Mack, chief executive of Scottish Renewables.

“At Scottish Renewables, we pride ourselves on having a membership and Board that reflects the breadth of activity in our industry. Susie, Gillian and Jimmy will each bring valuable expertise across legal services, project development and investment.”

“The board of Scottish Renewables has an important role in providing clear leadership to the sector so that its full potential in the energy transition can be maximised,” she added.

“It remains a momentous time for the industry as we design the frameworks which will underpin our long-term growth whilst navigating near-term hurdles. The past five years have been a period of significant growth and challenge, and I want to pay tribute to Adam Morrison who has been unwavering in support to the organisation during that time as our Chair.”

“Can I also thank Iain Sinclair and Kate Turner for their significant support to Scottish Renewables,” she stated.

“I’m pleased that Adam will remain on the Board whilst he takes on a new and pivotal role as Chair of the Offshore Wind Industry Council, helping to strengthen joint working across the UK.”
