Global Wind Service has joined Global Wind Organisation as a new leading member, becoming one of the first independent service providers to take part in shaping global safety and technical training standards for the wind workforce.
The company said the membership recognises the contribution of major ISPs and brings field experience into workforce development.
“Becoming a member of GWO is a unique opportunity for GWS” said Jens Bolvig, CHRO of Global Wind Service.
“Our goal is to help create a single, unified standard for training that reflects the realities our technicians face on-site,” he added.
GWS is developing new technicians through its GWS Entry Program, which delivers training and certification at the company’s GWO-certified academy in Poland and supports apprentices via a partnership with Skive College in Denmark.
The company has delivered more than 2000 projects in over 40 countries, according to the release.
GWS will join several GWO committees, including the general assembly, wind training, audit and compliance, and North America groups.
“Given the reach of services which GWS offers as an independent service provider, their perspective as a new member is important for our GWO community, where they can have influence alongside OEMs and developers to drive our standardization initiatives related to workforce development,” said Jakob Lau Holst, chief executive of GWO.
