Titan Wind Energy has signed its largest welding and handling equipment contract to date with ESAB for its new monopile manufacturing facility in Cuxhaven.
The company said the deal includes automated SAW lines, heavy-duty manipulators and digitally controlled welding systems with real-time process monitoring.
Titan Wind Energy added that the package will support rapid ramp-up, stabilise quality and deliver the volumes required for 14-metre-class monopiles.
Heiko Mützelburg said: “ESAB’s high-automation welding and handling systems are tailored to the specific challenges of 14-metre-class monopiles.
“They will help us to ramp up quickly, stabilize quality from day one and deliver the volumes the offshore market urgently needs.”
Antonio Leon added: “Offshore wind foundations are becoming larger and heavier at an unprecedented speed.
“By combining high-capacity SAW technologies, advanced process control and robust manipulation equipment, we are partnering with Titan to address the technical challenges of the new generation of monopile manufacturing.”
Titan Wind Energy said the highly automated systems will create a scalable, data-rich production environment aimed at removing bottlenecks in the offshore wind supply chain.
