Synera Renewable Energy has signed a long-term corporate power purchase agreement in Taiwan for the 495MW Formosa 4 wind farm.
The CPPA was concluded with the island’s government-backed electricity aggregator Taiwan Smart Electricity & Energy.
TSEE will trade the electricity from the undisclosed portion of the array’s total capacity with a range of corporate offtakers, largely from Taiwan’s dominant semi-conductor export industry.
It is the second CPPA signed by TSEE since its creation and follows the 30-year contract it agreed with EDF in October for the 440MW Wei Lan Hai Changhua.
SRE penned several major contracts this summer in preparation to begin a two-year build-out of the Round 3 Formosa 4 scheme next year.
They include deals with Siemens Gamesa to provide 14MW turbines and with Century Wind Power to supply 35 jacket foundations.
