Jules Rankin-Perez has joined OnPath Energy as head of construction, according to the company.
She will manage construction performance across the developer’s UK project pipeline and will be supported by wider teams to ensure safety and financial oversight.
OnPath Energy said Rankin-Perez brings almost 17 years of renewable energy experience to the role, including work on two of the company’s Scottish onshore wind farms.
Rankin-Perez was born in South Africa and moved to the UK in 1999 before completing a product design engineering degree at Edinburgh Napier University.
She joined Johnson & Johnson after winning a scholarship during her studies and worked at the firm for six years before switching direction.
She later completed a master’s degree in energy engineering at Heriot Watt University and joined turbine manufacturer Senvion, where she worked for more than a decade and became a construction team leader.
Rankin-Perez moved to Green Cat Renewables as a consultant on onshore wind, hydro, hydrogen, gas peaker and combined heat and power projects before focusing on green hydrogen development at Protium.
“OnPath Energy has a strong portfolio of future projects and my aim is to use my experience to help bring them through construction and handed over to operations as smoothly and efficiently as possible,” said Rankin-Perez.
She said: “Having previously worked with members of the team, I knew that OnPath’s culture, ethos and ways of working fit well with my own.”
She added: “It’s refreshing to be part of a business that has such a strong, clear focus on its future direction, and with a lot of new projects about to come forward, it’s an exciting time to be joining.”
OnPath Energy said it has 12 operational onshore wind farms in Scotland and England.
The company added that construction is under way at three green energy generation sites and that several new projects will come forward in the next 12 months.
“Jules’ personal and professional qualities were well known to us, with her breadth of green energy industry experience being exactly what we required for this role, and we’re very pleased to be able to bring her into our growing team,” said Martin Kellerman, construction director at OnPath Energy.
