Nordex Group has received a new order from long-term customer SSE to supply and install seven wind turbines for two projects in the Aragón region of Spain totalling 42MW.
The contract covers the 19MW Minguez and 23MW Portalrubio wind farms near Teruel, which will use Nordex’s N163 turbines from the Delta4000 series. Four turbines will be delivered in the N163/5.X variant on 116-metre towers and three in the N163/6.X variant on 119-metre towers.
Nordex will also provide a 20-year premium service agreement to ensure long-term operational reliability and high energy yields.
The order extends Nordex’s collaboration with SSE in Spain following the approaching completion of the 64MW Jubera wind farm.
“The towers, blades and nacelles for the wind farms will be manufactured in Spain, reinforcing Nordex’s commitment to its European supply chain excellence,” the company said. Both projects are located less than three hours from Nordex’s Barásoain factory and will be supported by its Zaragoza service hub.
Francisco Cejudo, director of sales Spain at Nordex Group, said: “We are delighted to continue our successful collaboration with SSE and to contribute to Aragón’s leadership in renewable energy. Our advanced turbine technology positions us as a key partner for the region’s ambitious wind energy targets.”
Aragón remains one of Spain’s most active regions for wind development, with numerous new projects planned in the coming years.
