Nordex has secured turbine orders totalling 738MW from three German wind farm developers for multiple projects across the country.
The orders for turbines from the Delta4000 series, were placed late last year by Umweltgerechte Kraftanlagen (UKA), DenkerWulf and WPD for respective projects.
UKA has ordered 80 turbines for a total of 540MN which will be installed across 15 UKA wind energy projects in six German states.
The order comprises 64 N175/6.X turbines, 13 N163/6.X turbines and three N149/5.X turbines.
Nordex will service the turbines for 20 years after the wind farms go into operation.
One of the largest order projects, which is the 78MW Herzberg-Granzin wind farm in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, will use nine N175/6.X turbines and three N149/5.X turbines.
Nordex will install all N175/6.X turbines on concrete hybrid towers developed in-house with a hub height of 179 metres.
The orders are part of a framework agreement between UKA and the Nordex Group that was extended in November 2023.
“This order increases the project volume that UKA currently has in the construction phase with Nordex in Germany to a total of 1,070 MW.
“This is a sign of confidence in the quality of Nordex’s products and management,” says Stefan Kath, managing director of UKA.
Karsten Brüggemann, Nordex’s vice president, region central, added: “The success of the energy transition in Germany is not only the result of good technology, but also of long-term partnership between all those involved.
“The new wind farms will further support the path of self-sufficient energy supply in the state.”
Also in December developer DenkerWulf placed an order for 25 Delta4000 series turbines across seven projects, including 20 year-plus servicing agreements.
The wind farms Dorphof-Thumby, Owschlag, Hohenaspe, Ottenbuttel, Galmsbull-Norderhof, Quarnbek-Erweiterung and Bimohlen-Hasenmoor are all being built in Schleswig-Holstein.
From the beginning of 2026, Nordex will supply and install eight N163/6.X turbines, 12 N149/5.X turbines and five N133/4800 turbines for the projects.

At the end of 2024, WPD ordered nine Delta4000 series turbines along with 20 year-plus service agreements.
The orders include a N149/4.X turbine for the Kalletal wind farm in North Rhine-Westphalia, four N149/5.X turbines for the Diepholzer Bruch wind farm in Lower Saxony and four N149/5.X turbines for the Gnutz wind farm in Schleswig-Holstein.
The turbines for the projects will be delivered and installed in 2025.
