Iberdrola has appointed Professor Paul Simshauser as its new CEO in Australia, succeeding Ross Rolfe who will step down at the end of this year.
Rolfe will continue to serve as chairman of the Iberdrola board in the country where the company has nearly 2GW operational capacity in wind and solar and a further 662MW under construction since entering the market with the acquisition of Infigen in 2020.
“It has been a privilege and an honour to lead Iberdrola’s business in Australia over the past five years”, said Rolfe.
“I am delighted that Paul will lead the next chapter of Iberdrola’s journey in Australia.”
Simshauser previously served as CEO of Powerlink Queensland and was a professor of economics at the Centre of Applied Energy Economics and Policy Research.
