COP picks Hol to lead Korean offshore wind projects

Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP) has appointed Joris Hol to lead two offshore wind projects in South Korea.

Hol (pictured) will serve as project chief executive of Haesong 1 and 3, and project chief operations officer of Jeonnam 2 and 3.

COP said that in these roles Hol will lead the local project teams, in collaboration with partners and stakeholders, to deliver the projects safely and sustainably.

Hol has 14 years of experience leading development and construction for global offshore wind projects.

He joins the Haesong and Jeonnam teams following four years as senior vice president at COP and project chief executive of the Zhong Neng and Fengmiao 1 offshore wind projects in Taiwan.

Under his leadership, Zhong Neng completed construction and entered operations in May 2025 and Fengmiao 1 reached financial close in March 2025.

“I am incredibly proud to join our exceptional team in Korea to advance the Haesong 1 and 3 and Jeonnam 2 and 3 projects,” said Hol.

“Together with our partners, we are committed to collaborating with the Korean government and local stakeholders to build a more sustainable environment for all.”

COP Korea chief executive Jonathan Spink said: “Joris has exceptional experience leading projects under development and construction in Taiwan and we are fortunate to have him join and lead four of our projects in the Jeonnam province.

“We look forward to advancing our portfolio in Korea, continuing the momentum set earlier this year with the completion of construction for Jeonnam 1, and supporting Korea’s ambitious net zero targets.”

In Korea, COP is leading development for a 5GW offshore wind project pipeline across Shinan, Ulsan and Taean counties, including Jeonnam 1, 2 and 3, Haesong 1 and 3, Haegeum 1 and 2, and Taean Wind Power.

COP is the exclusive offshore wind development partner to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).
