Qualitas Energy has won contracts for two German repowering projects with a combined capacity of more than 43MW in the latest tender round.
At Sassenberg-Gröblingen in North Rhine-Westphalia, four new turbines of 5.56MW each will replace older machines, benefiting from existing infrastructure and favourable wind conditions.
In Ingstetten in Baden-Württemberg, three 7.2MW turbines will be installed in the first phase of a larger development that will total six units subject to future tenders.
Qualitas said the awards highlight the company’s role in strengthening Germany’s energy transition amid oversubscription of the August auction.
Johannes Overbeck, co-chief executive of Qualitas Energy Deutschland, said: “The successful awards for our repowering projects underline the implementation strength of our team and our commitment to the energy transition. We use state-of-the-art technology to increase the efficiency and contribution of our wind farms to renewable power generation.”
The company has more than 100 wind projects in its portfolio and a 4GW pipeline at advanced stages of development.
