Three Vestas turbines at a French wind farm have been taken out of service after they were damaged in a suspected arson attack.
The 10.5MW Claves wind farm, which comprises six Vestas 1.75MW turbines, was developed by RES and is owned by TRIG.
It is located in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France.
A spokesperson for RES said: “We are aware of vandalism on three wind turbine generators at Claves wind farm and we are working with the relevant authorities to establish the facts.
“The situation is under control, and no one has been harmed. Our priority remains the safety and security of the site and our people, and investigations are ongoing.”
RES also confirmed that the three vandalised turbines have been taken offline while the site is assessed. The rest of the site is back in operation.
Turbine manufacturer Vestas has been contacted for comment.
