Macquarie Asset Management has provided €51m in second lien financing to an eight-site onshore wind platform in Finland.
The 218MW portfolio, located across central and southern Finland, is owned by funds managed by Helsinki-based renewable energy investor Taaleri Energia.
Macquarie said the loan will partly refinance existing debt under bespoke terms designed to provide flexibility.
Senior vice president Chantal Zhu said: “As Finland transitions to a carbon-neutral society, onshore wind will play a considerable role to help facilitate this commitment.
“We are delighted to provide a bilateral tailor-made financing to this onshore wind platform, which we believe is well-positioned to navigate the evolving Nordic power market environment.”
Taaleri Energia manages five private equity funds with a combined 9.1GW of wind, solar and battery assets in Europe and the US.
Macquarie’s Credit & Insurance division manages about €200bn of assets, including €35bn in private credit, and has provided €4.2bn in renewable energy debt since 2014.
