OX2 has sold its 96MW Ansthall onshore wind farm in eastern Romania to Helleniq Renewables, a wholly owned subsidiary of Helleniq Energy Holdings.
The project will feature 15 Vestas 6.4MW turbines and is scheduled to begin construction in the third quarter of 2025, with commissioning planned for 2027.
Ansthall holds a 12-year virtual power purchase agreement with Ahold Delhaize, covering more than half of the plant’s electricity output.
“The transaction with Helleniq Renewables demonstrates how OX2 develops its Romanian portfolio by progressing projects to financial investment decision,” said Lacramioara Diaconu-Pințea, country manager OX2 Romania.
“We’re strategically positioned to become one of the leading renewable energy companies in Romania while making a meaningful contribution to the country’s renewable energy objectives and energy transition goals,” Diaconu-Pințea added.
