BayWa renewable energy division has announced that chief executive Matthias Taft will leave the company at the end of August 2025 following the mutual conclusion of his contract.
Taft’s responsibilities will be shared temporarily by executive board members Daniel Gaefke, Elmar Geissinger and Hans-Joachim Ziems until a successor is appointed by the supervisory board.
Supervisory board chairman Michael Baur said: “On behalf of the Supervisory Board and all colleagues, I would like to thank Mr Taft for his commitment to BayWa r.e. over the past 15 years, and for his invaluable support in helping to stabilise the company over the past twelve months.”
BayWa r.e. said the recently completed financing package and improvements in operations provide a “solid foundation” for future transformation.
Taft said: “It has been both a pleasure and an honour to lead BayWa r.e. and to help shape its journey over the past decade and a half.
“I wish my colleagues and the company all the very best for the future. I am confident that the operational turnaround will succeed and that BayWa r.e. will regain its former strength.”
