A worker has died at Squadron Energy’s under-construction 450MW Clarke Creek wind farm in Queensland, Australia.
The developer said the “fatal incident” occurred on Wednesday.
“All work on site has been suspended, and the family has been notified and is being supported,” a spokesperson said.
“Our thoughts are with the worker’s family, friends and colleagues at this incredibly difficult time.”
The spokesperson added that safety is a top priority across all its sites, “and the wellbeing of everyone on the Clarke Creek wind farm site is our immediate focus”.
“We would like to acknowledge and thank the colleagues and first responders who responded to this tragedy,” they added.
“We will fully cooperate with investigating authorities, and we ask that the privacy of the family and all those affected be respected at this time.”
Clarke Creek is to feature 100 Goldwind 4.5MW turbines.
