The Nordex Group has secured an order for 21 turbines totalling 147MW for the largest wind project to date in Latvia.
Nordex will supply and install N163/6.X turbines from the Delta4000 series for the Pienava wind farm.
The project, developed by Eolus, has been sold to Latvenergo, Latvia’s state-owned energy company.
After commissioning in March 2027, Nordex will be responsible for the maintenance of the turbines as part of a maintenance contract with a term of 15 years.
The Pienava wind farm is being built in the municipality of Tukums, southwest of Riga. The turbines will be delivered and installed from summer 2026 on 169-metre tubular steel towers in the cold climate version.
The Nordex Group only entered the Latvian market in 2024 with an initial order for 109MW. Today, it has 300MW already under construction.
