UKA orders 435MW of Nordex turbines

Nordex has secured orders from German renewables developer UKA for 64 wind turbines totalling 435MW across multiple sites in Germany.

The deal includes 52 of Nordex’s N175/6.X machines and 12 of its N163/6.X models. It forms part of an existing framework agreement between the two companies.

All N175 units will be installed on 179-metre hybrid towers and deployed across 15 different wind farms in Brandenburg, Thuringia, North Rhine-Westphalia, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Lower Saxony.

Construction and commissioning will take place in 2026 and 2027, subject to individual project timelines.

The contracts also include 20-year premium service agreements.

“These orders represent another important milestone in our strong partnership with UKA,” said Nordex chief executive José Luis Blanco.

“We are delighted that UKA has once again chosen our latest N175/6.X turbine for the majority of its projects across Germany.”

UKA chief executive Gernot Gauglitz said the company had ordered 226 turbines from Nordex in the last 18 months, totalling more than 1.5GW.

“This current order for 64 turbines is an extraordinary achievement that fills me with pride,” he said.

“Now that German policymakers have created the framework, I am delighted that we can move the energy transition forward together with Nordex.”
