Doug Pfeister joins CoralPoint

Renewable energy consulting firm CoralPoint has appointed offshore wind specialist Doug Pfeister as a partner in New York.

Pfeister (pictured) has spent his career pioneering offshore wind in the United States, accelerating the growth of renewable energy more broadly, and advancing environmental causes.

Most recently, Pfeister finished three-and-a-half years as a partner at the global consultancy ERM, leading its renewables advisory practice in the US.

Ten years ago, he co-founded The Renewables Consulting Group (RCG) with other directors in the UK.

He entered the offshore wind sector 20 years ago with Bluewater Wind, a developer that secured the nation’s first federal offshore wind lease, off the coast of Delaware, alongside a 200MW offtake agreement with the state’s electric utility, Delmarva Power & Light.

In 2010 he started the country’s first offshore wind trade association, the Offshore Wind Development Coalition.

CoralPoint managing partner Emilie Reeve said: “Throughout his long career in both project development and energy and sustainability consulting, Doug has been driven by a personal mission to accelerate the energy transition and have a positive impact towards environmental causes and the climate emergency.

“We could not be more pleased Doug has chosen CoralPoint for his next chapter, and look forward to him having an even greater impact with our clients across the Americas.”

Pfeister will be based in CoralPoint’s offices in New York City and will work with renewable energy developers, governments, non-profits, and the finance community in both North America and Latin America.
