Navantia Seanergies has delivered the substation jacket for Ocean Winds’ 496MW Dieppe Le Tréport offshore wind farm in France.
The jacket departed from the south dock of the Puerto Real shipyard in Spain, heading to its destination on France’s Atlantic Coast.
The structure, nearly 54 metres tall and weighing approximately 1900 tonnes, was built at the Puerto Real shipyard.
Navantia Seanergies said it is the second jacket to be contracted by Ocean Winds in a deal signed in 2022. The first one, delivered a year ago, is already installed at the Îles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier (EMYN) offshore wind farm.
Navantia Seanergies has a long-standing relationship with Ocean Winds, having built – together with partner Windar Renovables – the first floating structure to be installed on the Iberian Peninsula, WindFloat, which is now celebrating five years of operation.
Currently, the company is developing 62 wind turbine jackets in Fene for the Dieppe Le Tréport offshore wind farm.
Meanwhile, Puerto Real has a capacity reservation agreement in place for the construction of offshore wind components.
