ScottishPower’s Keith Anderson (pictured: second left) was named CEO of the Year at the British Business Awards.

He was nominated alongside chief executives of seven other companies including The Ivy Collection, Greggs, Cazenove Capital, and the Murgitroyd Group.

Anderson was commended for his positive impact on his workforce, the energy sector and overall contribution to the British economy.

Alan Jope, former chief executive of Unilever and chair of the judging panel, said: “Last night’s awards represented a significant achievement.

“The substantial funds raised for this charitable cause were made possible through the collective contributions of all attendees and our distinguished guests, for which we express our sincere appreciation.

“We extend our congratulations to the award recipients as well the many finalists who were nominated.

“The level of talent, innovation, and business acumen demonstrated throughout has been exceptional and a worthy reflection of Britain’s thriving business community.”

Anderson has over 25 years’ service at ScottishPower and is leading its £24bn investment programme to help modernise and decarbonise the UK’s energy infrastructure – one of the largest in the country.

Under his stewardship ScottishPower has grown to be one of the largest renewable developers in the UK and the second largest network operator, as well as supplying 4.3m homes and businesses with energy and smart solutions.

He said:”I’m honoured to accept this award, but it is really a testament to the people I work with who strive to make a difference to our customers and communities across the country every single day.

“Energy is a critical part of people’s lives and as a business we are focused on our £24bn investment programme to 2028 – our largest ever – which will modernise and rewire Britain, deliver more clean, green renewable power and at the same time create thousands of skilled jobs and much needed economic growth.

“I’m exceptionally proud and fortunate to lead a business that is playing a pivotal role in delivering for British society for the long term.”

The award ceremony took place at the EICC in Edinburgh and helped raise £1m for homelessness charity Social Bite.
