Shell has confirmed it is discontinuing its centralised solar and onshore wind energy projects in Brazil.
The decision was taken as part of a portfolio adjustment, the company said.
The firm said it will continue to operate Prime Energy, which has smaller solar power assets in Brazil.
A Shell spokesperson said: “Shell confirms the discontinuation of its current centralised solar and onshore wind energy projects, developed by its subsidiary Shell Brasil Renewable and Energy Solutions (SBRES).
“As part of our focus on performance, discipline, and simplification, we are always exploring ways to create value from our energy generation portfolio.
“We understand that portfolio adjustment is common practice in the sector.
“We remain committed to accelerating the growth of our B2B energy solutions business in Brazil through Prime Energy.”
