Corio Generation has announced that Jonathan Cole (pictured) has taken the decision to step down as chief executive from 31 January 2025.
Samuel Leupold is to become chief executive, with the change effective from the end of the month.
Leupold has been chair of the board since Corio’s launch and brings over 25 years of industry experience, including as the former chief executive of Orsted Wind Power.
Prior to Orsted, Samuel held roles at ABB and McKinsey & Company specialising in utilities and industrials.
Mark Dooley will replace Leupold as chair of the board with the latter remaining on the board of directors.
Dooley said: “Since the launch of Corio in April 2022, Jonathan Cole has led the creation of a world class offshore wind business.
“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Jonathan for his commitment and drive in taking Corio to this stage in its development.
“We’re delighted to welcome Samuel Leupold as the incoming CEO and look forward to his leadership through the company’s next phase.”
Leupold added: “Having been part of Corio’s journey since its inception I have seen first-hand how the company has coupled impressive growth with the development of a world class team under Jonathan’s leadership.
“I am excited to build on these foundations and to take the company through its next phase of development and project execution.”
Cole said: “It has been a great privilege to lead Corio since its launch, and I am very proud of the team and culture that we have created and the many successes that we enjoyed together over the past three years.
“I am excited to see how the company continues to progress under Samuel’s leadership.”
