Lhyfe is working with Atmen to guarantee the traceability of its green and renewable hydrogen, a step towards its Renewable Fuel of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO) certification.
Each delivery of green and renewable hydrogen from Lhyfe can now include a digital product passport, offering buyers full transparency on the origin of the hydrogen produced, the carbon footprint of its production and, soon, an “RFNBO-compliant” label.
This collaboration combines Lhyfe’s expertise in producing green and renewable hydrogen with Atmen’s automated compliance and traceability platform.
The digital product passport details energy sourcing, including where, when and how the electricity used in the production process was generated, embedded emissions, comprising a step-by-step breakdown of the carbon intensity calculations, and supply chain contribution, which is the impact of each processing and logistics stage on the hydrogen’s carbon footprint.
This collaboration starts with the production unit in Bouin, in Vendee, in France and will be extended to other Lhyfe sites.
The company has also initiated steps to obtain RFNBO certification for hydrogen produced at its various sites.
Once achieved, the digital passports will include the “RFNBO-compliant” label.
