Hai Long Offshore Wind Farm has confirmed that two further workers who had been hospitalized after a 20 August CO2 leak at the onshore substation for the 1GW project in Taiwan have died.
Another worker died in late August.
Hai Long and the onshore substation contractor TECO Electric & Machinery have said they are cooperating with the authorities in conducting a comprehensive investigation.
After the CO2 leak on 20 August, 17 workers were hospitalized. The remaining 14 workers have been discharged.
After the first fatality, the Hai Long offshore wind farm said in a statement that “we extend our sincerest condolences to all the injured and their families, and we express our deepest sadness for the loss of life.” The statement also said the company will provide necessary support to the families of the deceased.
