BayWa’s renewable energy arm has entered an operations and maintenance (O&M) agreement with Cubico and GLIL Infrastructure for 149MW of UK solar farms.
The deal sees BayWa r.e. taking responsibility for 12 ground-mounted solar farms across England and Scotland.
The agreement is the first such partnership between BayWa r.e. and Cubico in the UK and onboarding of all 12 sites commenced in July.
The BayWa r.e. UK asset operations team manages over 2GW of renewables, including more than 835MW of ground-mounted solar.
Cubico’s own renewables portfolio totals over 3.2GW, with a further 700MW under construction.
The range of services, from reactive maintenance and monitoring, to detailed performance analytics, sits within the BayWa r.e. team’s specialisation.
BayWa r.e. Operation Services managing director Morgan Harris said: “Cubico are a fantastic partner for us, with a mission, values and goals that align perfectly with our own.
“By adding these important sites to our managed portfolio, we will be leveraging our leading expertise and as a result, the whole UK energy sector takes another strong step towards secure, sustainable supply.”
Cubico Sustainable Investments asset manager Chipo Murombedzi added: “With this agreement, we know we’re entrusting our assets in the safest possible hands.
“BayWa r.e. have a reputation for both consistency and excellence.
“That complements our own big ambitions to keep making maximum positive impact with our investments.
“Partnerships like this are the building blocks of a successful renewable energy transition, both here in the UK and all over the world.”
