Orsted has picked Voltalia to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for a 128MW solar project in Ireland.
The site is located in County Carlow, in the east of the country
“We are delighted with this first collaboration with Orsted, one of the world’s leading companies in our sector,” said Voltalia chief executive Sebastien Clerc.
“With this new service contract, Voltalia illustrates its competitiveness as a manufacturer of solar power plants,” he added.
This turnkey construction contract brings Voltalia’s total number of projects built or under construction in Ireland to more than 540MW.
In July 2023, Voltalia was selected by ESB and Bord na Mona, two semi-state-owned companies, for the construction of the Timahoe North solar park with a capacity of 108MW.
In August 2023, Power Capital Renewable had also selected Voltalia for the construction of four solar projects totalling a capacity of 230MW.
Voltalia’s last major signing took place in the summer of 2024 with ESB for the Middleton House scheme, a 75MW solar power plant located northeast of Lanesborough in Ireland.
