PGE Baltica has signed a framework agreement with Projmors Biuro Projektów Budownictwa Morskiego for technical advice in connection with the implementation of investments for offshore wind energy in port areas.
The scope of work includes technical advice in the implementation of offshore wind projects in the field of port infrastructure.
This includes preparing expert opinions and technical and economic analyses, as well as cost estimates for potential investments, preparing and giving opinions on design documentation in the field of programme and spatial concepts, functional and utility programmes, construction, technical and executive designs.
The contract also covers acting as a technical advisor in conducting purchasing procedures, including analysis and support in the development of tender documentation.
President of the management board of PGE Baltica Bartosz Fedurek said: “We are currently implementing the largest offshore wind project in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea, and this type of investment requires detailed analyzes of key project elements.
“One of them is service and port facilities for offshore wind farms. We are glad that in this respect we will cooperate with another Polish entity, Projmors.”
The contract also includes project management consultancy, including identifying project risks and implementing investment implementation schedules, as well as support in the field of design work including BIM (building information modelling).
As part of the contract, it is also planned to commission work related to the assessment of the results of subsoil tests and other studies in the geotechnical industry.
If necessary, this will include performing geotechnical control tests (verifying and verifying), additional control test loads confirming the required load-bearing capacity of the piles, ground anchors, etc., as well as carrying out quality tests and tests verifying the properties and technical parameters of the materials used and incorporated, indicated by the ordering party.
PGE Baltica has indicated Ustka as the location for its operational and service base.
The hub, which will be used to service PGE Baltica’s offshore wind farms, is currently in the final stage of work related to the need to demolish the remains of buildings located on the site of the future base.
At the same time, the final stage of database design is underway. The construction of key facilities for the farms developed by PGE and Orsted will begin in 2025.
The service base will be located in the western part of the Ustka port on the site of a former fish processing plant.
The service centre is to be used for ongoing monitoring of PGE wind farms in the Baltic Sea and for planned and ad hoc repairs of turbines operating at sea.
Ships with service crews and spare parts will depart from here.
