Aspiravi Group will acquire all of Parkwind’s shares in Belgian offshore wind farm Northwind, giving it a 70% stake in the 216MW asset.
The new shareholder structure between Aspiravi and Sumitomo Corporation follows the sale of Parkwind to Japan’s JERA Green in the summer of 2023.
Aspiravi Offshore, which was already the main shareholder with 40% of the shares of Northwind, exercised its rights in accordance with contractual provisions and will take over the 30% shares of Northwind held by Parkwind.
Sumitomo Corporation retains the remaining 30% in Northwind.
Aspiravi Offshore is one of the founders of Northwind and has increased its participation from 25% to 70% over the years.
Northwind is located in the Belgian waters of the North Sea on the Lodewijk Bank 37 km from the coast.
The asset, with 72 wind turbines, has been operational since 2014. It has an installed capacity of 216MW.
Aspiravi Group is a 100% Belgian group with 94 municipal shareholders, represented by their financial holdings CREADIV, EFIN, FINEG and NUHMA, and the Flemish Energy Holding (VEH – Vlaamse Energie Holding).
In addition to Northwind, Aspiravi Group is also a shareholder within the offshore wind farms Rentel and SeaMade.
