Boskalis has revealed that it has completed activities for Ocean Winds’ 882MW Moray West offshore wind farm.
Over the past two years, the company used six Boskalis vessels to carry out the scope of its contract in Scotland.
After Gardline carried out extensive geotechnical and geophysical survey works prior to the installation work, its subsea rock installation vessel Rockpiper installed more than 110,000 tons of rock.
This was scour protection for the 62 XXL monopiles Boskalis has been contracted to install.
DEME has been contracted to install the remainder.
Boskalis’ semi-submersible heavy transport vessel White Marlin transported two times eight foundations from Asia to the port of Invergordon, Scotland.
From there Boskalis’ crane vessel Bokalift 2 picked up the monopiles, with weights varying from 1,515 to 1,935 tonnes, prior to installing them in the field by means of vibro-driving as well as hydraulic impact driving.
In addition, crane vessel Bokalift 1 installed the wind farm’s two offshore substation platforms, consisting of transition pieces, topsides and additional equipment.
