EDF opens consultation on 85MW Welsh wind

EDF Renewables UK will host a supply chain event in Inverness, Scotland later this month to showcase its new 225MW Clash Gour wind farm and provide local businesses with the chance to discuss opportunities to work on the project.

The event marks a significant milestone in the development of the wind farm project located near Forres, which will consist of 48 turbines.

The Meet the Buyer event will take place at the Kingsmills Hotel on 27 March from 10am to 1pm.

This event is open to a range of businesses who may be needed as part of the construction and operation of the wind farm – and includes but is not limited to those working in the following industries: hoteliers and bed and breakfast; security; transportation; site investigations; and civil engineering.

A range of speakers from EDF Renewables UK will be in attendance to provide the company’s vision for the project, while the Clash Gour project, construction and procurement team will be on hand to give an extensive update on the wind farm and the next steps of its development.

The team will also be available to answer any questions from those in attendance.

Andrew Heron, EDF Renewables UK’s project manager for Clash Gour wind farm, said: “We are excited to bring together local businesses and potential partners who share our vision for a sustainable future.

“This Meet the Buyer event is a chance to forge meaningful relationships that will not only benefit our wind farm project but also the broader community and environment.

“We pride ourselves on working closely with communities across our portfolio, and Clash Gour wind farm is no different.

“We want to get to know the community and supply chain in the vicinity better and see the local economy benefit as far as possible from the wind farm.”
