Better Energy has inked a power purchase agreement with Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies for output from a solar farm in Denmark.
The 10-year PPA is for 40GWh of renewable energy annually and it starts in July 2025.
The amount will cover the total electricity consumption at Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies’ Hillerod biopharmaceutical manufacturing site, including new operations coming online in 2024.
The solar park, with a capacity of 107MW, will be built near Vedde in the Soro municipality, 80 km from Hillerod.
“We’ve formed a significant understanding with Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies regarding their commitment to the green transition by powering their global manufacturing facility in Denmark with renewable energy,” said Mikkel Thorup, senior director of PPAs at Better Energy.
He added: “Not only have they contributed to a new large-scale solar park, but they are striving to reduce their environmental impact and move toward achieving their sustainability targets over the next decade.”
