Nordic Solar has acquired a 40MW ready-to-build solar park project from Swedish renewable energy developer Helios Nordic Energy AB.
The site is the first large-scale scheme on the Swedish island of Gotland.
The project is part of the 270MW pipeline to be developed in cooperation with Helios Nordic Energy AB, which Nordic Solar plans to construct in Sweden.
With this additional project, 150MW of the pipeline is either ready-to-build or under construction.
The Gotland scheme, south of Visby, is sited over 60 hectares. Nordic Solar has acquired the project with all necessary permits and a grid connection agreement with the grid owner GEAB.
“We are very pleased to continue our cooperation with Helios Nordic Energy on this new project,” said Nordic Solar chief executive Nikolaj Holtet Hoff (pictured).
“Together we can help boost the production of renewable energy in Sweden. Adding this new project to our portfolio is part of our focus on accelerating the production of solar energy from large-scale solar parks in the region.”
Helios Nordic Energy chief executive Andreas Tunbjer added: “Helios is very excited to deliver yet another solar PV project to our trusted partner Nordic Solar.
“The project stands out being the first large-scale project on Gotland, one of the places with the highest solar irradiation in Sweden.
“Our team really enjoys working closely with Nordic Solar, and we look forward to doing more together in the near future.”
