Elementum Energy has reported damage to its wind park in the south of Ukraine due to a recent drone attack.
During the incident, one wind turbine was hit by a drone and subsequently collapsed.
The UK-backed investor in Ukraine’s renewable energy sector said no injuries to personnel occurred as a result of the attack on the GE Vernova turbine.
The National Police of Ukraine has initiated criminal proceedings concerning this incident, Elementum added. The use of drones by Russia has been commonplace as part of its invasion of Ukraine.
Following the attack, a partial shutdown of the wind park was instituted.
Elementum Energy is currently working on reinstatement of generation and distribution of electricity to its consumers.
Olga Rybachuk, managing director of Elementum Energy, said: “Despite the challenging circumstances, our commitment remains unwavering.
“The wind park, which has been operational amidst a full-scale invasion, has been a vital energy source for the people of Ukraine.
“Our team will work together with the responsible authorities to ensure our wind assets remain functional.”
