Iberdrola has awarded Ingeteam with a contract to carry out inspections of turbine blades at the German Wikinger offshore wind farm, off Germany.
Ingeteam will be in charge of the blade inspections at the 350MW facility, which comprises 70 turbines.
For the company, this is a new contract with Iberdrola at the same facility.
Ingeteam was also responsible for Wikinger’s commissioning in 2018 and carried out the corresponding quality inspections in 2021.
This wind farm, located next to the island of Rügen, is part of the largest operational offshore site in the Baltic Sea
The work to be carried out by Ingeteam is done by means of vertical access with ropes.
The 21 wind turbines to be inspected have a total height of 165 metres and the 135-metre diameter rotors have 67-metre long blades.
