OX2 has signed an agreement with Finnish partner Tuulialfa on the development and construction of a 1200MW onshore wind portfolio in Northern Ostrobothnia and Lapland.
The agreement covers six wind farms with a total of approximately 150 wind turbines to be built.
According to the agreement, Tuulialfa is responsible for project development and OX2 for financing, procurement, construction and operation.
The parties are also developing the Turkselkä site in Vaala.
The projects covered by the agreement are expected to be ready for investment between 2025 and 2028.
The developments are located in Utajärvi, Pudasjärvi, Oulu, Kittilä and Kuusamo.
The sites covered by the agreement are largely in the planning phase, at which point they are included in OX2’s project portfolio.
“We are very pleased with the long-term agreement with Europe’s most significant onshore wind power developer,” said Tuulialfa chief executive Antti Tanskanen.
“The cooperation complements Tuulialfa’s expertise in an excellent way. Now, together with OX2, we can also prepare the construction and production phase of the projects already in the permit phase,” Tanskaned added.
“This speeds up the progress of projects into functional wind farms that benefit regions and society.”
