Engineering services outfit Correll Group has been awarded a contract to provide support for the pull-in and installation of two export cables to the substation platform for the Calvados offshore wind farm off France.
Correll will support Prysmian in the installation of two 225kV HVAC export cables, each about 17.5km, to the offshore substation for the 448MW development.
The Calvados offshore wind project is comprised of 64 GE Haliade 150-6MW series turbines located more than 10km from the Bessin coastline.
The offshore site is being developed by Éolien Maritime France, a joint venture between EDF Renewables and Enbridge.
EMF was awarded the tender by the French Government in 2012, along with the 498MW Fécamp and the 480MW Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farms.
Commissioning of Calvados is scheduled for 2024.
Managing director at Correll Sam Dowey said: “We are delighted to have been awarded a further contract with the Prysmian Group and we very much look forward to continuing to grow our partnership.
“This project will be completed using Correll’s cable pull-in and termination & testing team under our new bespoke turnkey solution.”
