The Polish government has awarded PGE Baltica 4 the first lease in its current Phase 2 site auction.
The developer was granted the 43.E.1 site, which comprises a 118.4 square kilometre area, by the Ministry for Infrastructure earlier this week after receiving the highest number of points in the competitive procedure.
Other developers who also qualified for the auction included EDF Renewable Offshore Polska I, who were the runners up, followed by Cormano and POW-Polish Offshore Wind.
The Ministry for Infrastructure said that these companies will be able to appeal against the results within 14 days of their announcement.
Last week the Polish government declined to award a lease for the 53.E.1 site after none of the bidders gave suitable project permitting and completion timelines.
A total of nine other sites remain up for grabs, with the outcomes of these leases expected to be announced shortly.
