The Polish government has declined to award one of 11 lease areas up for grabs in its current Phase 2 site auction after none of the developers reached the minimum award criteria.
The Infrastructure Ministry said the 53.E.1 site has not been assigned as no bidder gave suitable project permitting and completion timelines.
A statement said no developer could commit to securing permission in 2023.
“Since none of the applicants has achieved the qualification minimum, the Minister of Infrastructure considers the proceedings unresolved,” added a statement by the ministry.
Among the developers seeking rights for the 53.E.1 site were RWE and EDF Renewables.
The government is expected to announce the outcome of the other lease competitions for the ten other sites shortly.
