Iberdrola-owned Avangrid Renewables has put back the operational dates for its US offshore wind projects Park City Wind and Commonwealth Wind back a year to 2027 and 2028 respectively as part of its strategic plan.
Avangrid said the move was necessary to mitigate potential supply chain bottlenecks and high commodity prices.

As increase in Kitty Hawk Wind’s capacity from 2500MW to 3500MW was also announced in Iberdrola’s Q3 2022 results.
This is thanks to the current turbine technology allowing it to increase the capacity potential of the leased area.
All three projects are in the process of obtaining federal authorisation from the United States.
