Voltalia has begun construction works at two 45MW solar sites in the UK, having secured a Contract for Difference for each in the round four allocation.
The projects, Clifton Solar and Higher Stockbridge Solar, are both located in Dorset, with Clifton Farm located near Yeovil and Higher Stockbridge close to Sherbourne.
The projects will be delivered in the 2024/2025 timeframe.
In the UK, Voltalia now has a portfolio of five solar and storage facilities in operation or under construction for a total capacity of 179MW.
“We are very pleased to have been awarded the 90MW CfD contracts for Clifton and Higher Stockbridge.
“They underline our commitment to the UK market and our support for the country’s ambition to produce 95% of its low-carbon electricity by 2030.
“These projects demonstrate that solar projects can be deployed quickly, which can contribute to the rebalancing of the electricity market,” said Sébastien Clerc, CEO of Voltalia.
